Welcome,
Thank you for choosing to explore the Elite School of Surgical First Assisting curriculum. Our first assist program was designed with the first assist in mind. Throughout this course we will cover multiple specialties and procedures. Our goal is to train competent and confident surgical first assistants who can perform in a multi-specialty surgical facility.
To complete the ESSFA program you will be required to complete a variety of assignments. The reading and research assignments are designed to expand your knowledge of the topics we cover. There will be required writing assignments covering surgical procedures, legal and ethical issues, and HIPPA guidelines and regulations. Your comprehension of this information will be of great value throughout your career as a first assist. Even with a broad knowledge of surgical procedures and patient care issues, a surgical fist assistant must demonstrate good technical skills. The suture and tying practice requirements and the six-day Technique Enhancement Course were designed and developed to perfect your technical ability. The final exams will be used to evaluate your understanding of the material covered in each section. We know you will benefit from this course.
Again, thank you for choosing the Elite School of Surgical First Assisting - Assistant at Surgery curriculum. Your success is our success and together we will both succeed.
Sincerely,
James E. Johnson III, CSA, SA-C
